The Elephant Seller's Daughter
This jig was inspired by a Persian nomadic trader with a tent full of the most amazing wares. His beautiful daughter would offer rides on the elephants for sale and could provide advice on precisely what qualities to look for in a work versus breeding animal. But whatever you do, DO NOT fall in love with her. (listen) (music)
Laurie McDonald's Waltz
This tune was written for my dear partner and first performed by the Groovemongers on a Dance and Dive trip to Bonaire in the Dutch Caribbean. It was written for mandolin and sets well with fifth-tuned instruments. Play it lively but push the B-part dramtically. (listen) (music)
True Fortune
This bittersweet waltz is an acknowledgement that it is possible to find that you are truly blessed, beyond what could even be hoped for, even though that blessing is sometimes hard to find. (listen)
